INDIVIDUAL COACHING & MENTORING : Transformation at Work- releasing people to perform

CULTURAL CHANGE

Cultural Change is a term most often used when the need presents itself to understand and adapt to different national cultures following, for example, a trans-national merger or an extension into new trans-national markets. ICFBA coaches and mentors understand this dimension of cultural change and also the wide variety of other ways in which cultural change and difference presents itself. For example, there will almost certainly be cultural differences when two organisations form a new partnership. Marketing, production and finance departments within one organisation will have different cultures Ð Òthe way we do things around hereÓ Ð that may create significant tensions between departments. When companies that operate in more than one country want to bring in significant change, the different nationalities will respond differently.

The bottom line is that cultural change is more than the running of workshops to explain national differences, though such workshops may be part of a cultural change programme. ICFBA coaches and mentors will select from the menu of products in this section, plus specific trans-national cultural change interventions, in order to meet your needs. For example, the leaders may well value individual coaching or mentoring, and key teams, especially if they are multi-discipline or multi-national, may benefit from team coaching. There will certainly be a need for some values and behaviours work to act as a vehicle for people to contribute their different capabilities to serve the common goals in a mutually understandable way of working together.

A cultural change programme will be a customised package. Like our coaching programmes, it will be structured, focused, packaged and measurable so that you know what you are getting and how you will use and measure it.
